Do I need a referral?

A medical referral is not required to see a physiotherapist, massage therapist or myotherapist unless you are claiming the injury through a third party provider, e.g. Workcover, TAC or Veterans Affairs.


Does private health insurance cover my treatment?

This will depend on your policy. Most policies with ancillary or extras cover will provide a rebate for physiotherapy, clinical pilates and myotherapy or remedial massage. At Flex Sports Physiotherapy you can process your health claim immediately in the clinic using HICAPS.


Does Medicare cover my treatment?

Medicare does not generally cover physiotherapy, myotherapy, massage or clinical pilates. However, the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) scheme now permits doctors to approve up to five allied health services per year on referral. Please discuss this option with either your physiotherapist or treating doctor.


Do you treat Workcover and TAC patients?

Yes we do, however Workcover and TAC may only partially cover the cost of services at this clinic and patients are required to have a referral from their treating doctor. All patients are also responsible for the full payment after each consultation. You will be provided with a receipt that you can present for reimbursement with the third party insurer.


What are the terms for payment and cancellation?

Payment in full is required at the time of consultation for any service. Cash, cheque, EFTPOS, visa, mastercard and amex are accepted. If you need to cancel your appointment we request that you provide at least 24 hours notice if possible to avoid a cancellation free for the time you reserved.


How long does an appointment take?

Initial Physiotherapy and Myotherapy consultations are 45minutes. Running Analysis, Initial Pilates and Pregnancy Massage consultations are 1hour. Follow up appointments can vary between 30mins-1hour depending on the service and how many areas you may need treated. Please refer to our schedule of fees for specific appointment times based on your chosen service.

Can I contact my Practitioner via email?

Yes, we welcome communication from our clients. For general enquiries please email info@flexphysio.com.au. Following your initial consultation your practitioner may provide you with their direct email for you to use if you have any questions regarding your injury or condition. At times, it may be appropriate to schedule an appointment to provide more comprehensive care than what we can do in an email – should this be necessary we will let you know.


What do I bring to my appointment?

Please bring any referral letters and relevant test results such as x-rays, MRI or CT reports.


What should I wear?

For pilates sessions please wear clothing that is comfortable. We recommend track pants, leggings or shorts and a t shirt. We also request that you wear clean socks for all pilates sessions. For physiotherapy treatment you may like to bring a pair of shorts if your injury involves your lower limbs. If uncertain please check with reception at the time of booking your appointment.


How do I book for group pilates sessions?

Group pilates classes are available at specified times and can be booked with our friendly reception in person, over the phone, via email info@flexphysio.com.au or via our online booking system.


Is parking available?

Parking is available at city car parks nearby, including Little Collins Street, Flinders Street and in the City Square. There is also one hour metered street parking available along Queen Street. Public transport is another option, with trains arriving into both Flinders and Southern Cross stations, and trams along Bourke, William and Collins Streets.
